BRASS

Brass is suitable for embossing, debossing and stamping. These type of dies are cut on a CNC machine. They are more versatile than the magnesium and copper plates. Because they are cut on the machine it gives us the ability to use a specific angles on the dies and a specific depths. This material also lends itself to be used for longer runs on the printing presses and leather machines.

MAGNESIUM

Magnesium is suitable for embossing, debossing, and stamping. Being a photographic process the detail will be completely dependent on the quality of the artwork furnished. These dies are chemically etched and are therefore only one level.

You can use a stamping die and an embossing die to get a combination foil and emboss look to your project. This is what is called a stamp and bump which simply means they stamp it first with a foil stamping die and come back and bump it up with an embossing die.

COPPER

Copper is suitable for embossing, debossing and stamping. Being a photographic process the detail will be completely dependent on the quality of the artwork furnished. These dies are chemically etched and are therefore only one level.

Etched embossing dies with fine line detail must be taken into account when creating the artwork, as the etching will be shallow in the finer detail or none at all. Pleas make note of this when providing the artwork. All copper embossing dies are etched for 80 lb paper stock unless told otherwise.

METAL DIES

ROLL DIES

Roll dies are made for leather manufactures and are used to produce many types of belt products. All rolls are costum made to customer specifications and no designs are kept so these are dies made to be used by only that customer.

We will need the type of machine you are using as well as the outside dimension, inside dimension, and key way. These measurements are commonly called the OD and ID of the roll as well as the key way width. This information is needed to make the roll and find the repeat of the design.

Customer may furnish a hand tooled piece of leather for us to replicate the design from. A tooled piece of leather is the best way to get the roll to look like the sample. We can use black and white designs, or an e-mailed file, or create one for you at an additional charge, but these will be made the way we translate the design to be.

PLASTIC DIES

Plastic dies are perfect for the beginner and the novice person in the leather industry. Using these type of dies keeps your cost down and are made to be used by leather manufacturers only, with no heat..

These stamps are designed to be used with a press not a mallet. they are cut on a 3/8" thick plastic material. For one time jobs or a small production run they are perfect.

Plastic roll dies are made only for the smaller roll machines. The maximum outside dimension is two inch.

LASER CUTS

Laser cutting is done when a steel cutting die can not be used. The detail in the artwork is to complicated. The laser can follow the design and cut the pattern as it is on the file the customer has provided. Cost is figured on time on the machine and a set up fee.

We can also make designs on leather if the cost of the die is to high for the type of work that is being done. This is great for a low volume job. Depending on the thickness of the leather we can cut the design out of the leather.

Rubber stamps on wooden handles can also be made. If a customer has a need for one we can take the artwork and place it on one of three different size stamps. For more information please call or contact us.
